4.4 The "Blink Home Monitor" app is a powerful tool for anyone looking to enhance their home security. With its user-friendly interface and robust features, it stands out in the crowded market of home monitoring solutions. Here are some of the core features that make it a must-have:
As a busy professional and a parent, I rely heavily on the "Blink Home Monitor" app to keep an eye on my home while I’m away. One of my favorite scenarios is when I’m at work and my kids come home from school. I can check the live feed to ensure they’ve arrived safely and are settling in. Additionally, during family vacations, I use the app to monitor our home, giving me peace of mind that everything is secure while we’re away. I also love using the app when I’m expecting deliveries; it allows me to see when packages arrive and even communicate with the delivery person if needed.
The user interface of the "Blink Home Monitor" app is incredibly intuitive. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with a clean layout that makes navigation a breeze. The live video feed loads quickly, and I appreciate how easy it is to switch between different camera views. The motion detection alerts are timely and accurate, which is crucial for my peace of mind. I’ve experienced no lag in performance, even when accessing the app from different locations. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive; the app feels reliable and responsive, making it a joy to use.
The pricing for the "Blink Home Monitor" app is quite reasonable, especially considering the features it offers. The app itself is free to download, but there are optional cloud storage plans available for those who want to save their footage. The plans are flexible, allowing you to choose one that fits your needs and budget. I found the pricing to be competitive compared to other home monitoring solutions, making it an attractive option for anyone looking to enhance their home security without breaking the bank.
One of the standout aspects of the "Blink Home Monitor" app is the regular updates and support provided by the developers. I’ve noticed frequent updates that enhance functionality and address any bugs. The customer support team is responsive and helpful; I reached out once with a question about setting up a new camera, and they provided clear instructions within a few hours. This level of support gives me confidence in the product and its ongoing development.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when it comes to home monitoring apps. The "Blink Home Monitor" app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring it meets the necessary security standards for mobile applications. During the registration process, I was required to provide basic personal information, which is standard for most apps. However, I appreciate that the app does not ask for excessive personal data, which can often be a red flag.
In terms of ads and tracking behavior, I was relieved to find that the "Blink Home Monitor" app does not bombard users with ads. The app focuses on providing a seamless user experience without intrusive advertisements. Additionally, the app’s privacy policy is transparent, outlining how my data is used and stored. Overall, I feel secure using the "Blink Home Monitor" app, knowing that my privacy is respected and my home is protected.

The app is not great. It can never do more than 1 thing at a time. For example, if something trips one camera, but you want to live view another while the first one is recording, forget it. It also can't disarm individual cameras while another is being disarmed. It would also be great to split cameras into zones without having to purchase another sync module for each zones. Rating lowered. App is useless now if someone rings the doorbell, and I want to see who it is while they are still there.

I'll be unsubscribing in the next few days when I pick up cameras from a different company. The monthly cost feels nearly like theft with how awful these cameras work. So terribly laggy that you can barely tell what's going on, and it RARELY records motion when it's supposed to. Not to mention the forced 30 second delay, so you'll get 10 second clips that just end midway through whatever is going on, and you never get to see the rest.

Getting tired of glitches. Every time I open the app now, it says it's recording live. The live capture is turned off on all my cameras! The lag time gets slower and slower until you uninstall the app and reinstall. Why? I'm really not happy with blink at all!!!! update 4/11/26: video doorbell not showing live nor capturing video. I will be finding another, BETTER, security program.

The app lags so much that it makes the cameras literally pointless. Half the time it doesn't record anything despite notifying me of motion. The live view almost never opens, and when it does it takes so long to actually open that it'd be much faster to just get up and go see what set the camera off. On the rare occasions live view works it's super choppy and freezes and skips constantly. I sincerely regret ever getting these cameras, they might as well be paperweights for all the good they do.

Blink is okay when it works, but way too many issues. I am constantly having issues trying to access my camera feeds, cameras lose connection to the Sync Module, or the Sync Module is just going offline. Update: As of 10/7/2024, I can open the app and see clips, but no videos play. Camera captures, videos, and even camera feeds do not open. Nothing works. Even IF my camera captures anything, I just can not view it. And yes, I double-checked and made sure everything was up to date.
