Features & Highlights

Amazon Music: Songs & Podcasts is a versatile audio streaming service that caters to music lovers and podcast enthusiasts alike. With a plethora of features designed to enhance the listening experience, it stands out in a crowded market. Here are some of its core features:

  • Extensive Music Library: With millions of songs at your fingertips, Amazon Music offers an impressive catalog that spans various genres. Whether you’re in the mood for classic rock or the latest pop hits, you can easily find your favorite tracks. For instance, I recently hosted a dinner party and created a playlist featuring both upbeat and mellow tunes, ensuring the perfect ambiance for my guests.
  • Podcasts Galore: The app isn’t just about music; it also boasts a wide selection of podcasts. From true crime to comedy, there’s something for everyone. I often listen to a popular true crime podcast during my morning commute, making the drive much more enjoyable and engaging.
  • Personalized Playlists: Amazon Music uses advanced algorithms to curate playlists based on your listening habits. This feature has introduced me to countless new artists and songs I wouldn’t have discovered otherwise. Just last week, I was surprised by a playlist that included indie tracks perfectly aligned with my taste, making my daily workout sessions much more enjoyable.
  • Offline Listening: One of the standout features is the ability to download songs and podcasts for offline listening. This is a game-changer for those who travel frequently or have limited data plans. I often download my favorite playlists before heading out on a road trip, ensuring I have uninterrupted music without worrying about connectivity.
  • Seamless Integration with Alexa: If you own an Amazon Echo or any Alexa-enabled device, you can easily control your music with voice commands. I love using this feature while cooking; I simply ask Alexa to play my favorite playlist, and I can keep my hands free for meal prep.

User Experience

The user interface of Amazon Music is sleek and intuitive, making navigation a breeze. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with a clean layout that showcases my recently played songs and curated playlists. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive, as the app consistently delivers high-quality audio and a user-friendly experience.

Pricing

Amazon Music offers a variety of pricing plans to cater to different users. The basic version is free with ads, while the Amazon Music Unlimited plan provides an ad-free experience with access to the full library for a monthly fee. As a Prime member, I enjoy a discounted rate, which makes it even more appealing. The pricing is competitive compared to other streaming services, and the value I receive from the extensive library and features justifies the cost.

Updates & Support

Amazon Music is regularly updated, ensuring that users benefit from new features and improvements. I’ve noticed enhancements in the app’s performance and the addition of new podcasts and playlists over time. Customer support is readily available through the app, with a comprehensive help section that addresses common issues. I’ve reached out for assistance once, and the response was prompt and helpful, which adds to my overall satisfaction with the service.

Security & Privacy Review

As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using any app, and Amazon Music takes these concerns seriously. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring a secure download from trusted sources. When registering, I was required to provide basic personal information, which is standard for most streaming services. However, I appreciate that Amazon Music allows users to manage their privacy settings, giving me control over what data is shared.

Regarding ads and tracking behavior, the free version of the app does include ads, which is typical for ad-supported services. However, I’ve noticed that the ads are not overly intrusive, and the overall experience remains enjoyable. For those who prefer an ad-free experience, upgrading to the paid version eliminates this concern entirely. Overall, I feel confident using Amazon Music, knowing that my data is handled with care and that I have options to enhance my privacy.

updating review back to 4 stars. Still have unlimited, they have fixed some things since my last update.App seems to be running a lot better, doesn't crash as much. It's still not as fluid as other music apps. after shutting down app, they finally fixed going back to the music you left off on when you return, very happy there.however, coming from PC to app, it's not doing this, it seems like individual environments, but in "recent imports" it does show what I was playing on my pc. Good job team.

the interface is pretty garbage. It us constantly trying to get me to upgrade, but it loses my place in my podcasts, has not video option. and doesn't support the basic controls Spotify, YouTube Music, and Libby all do when listening to long format audio. I only use it so I can listen to NPR news now and Airmchair Expert without ads, but again, since there is no video I can't quickly look to see if there is something visual going on with AE.

I would absolutely give you 5 if you could fix the bugs in your app. i have spoken to your customer service on several occasions, each time, explaining the issues I have been experiencing for more than a year. I have not been contacted and haven't been given any resolutions. I love you music selection, your algorithms seem to work but a little off at times. great selection and excellent sound quality.Easy to use, but 10.99 monthly is a lot to pay for an app did I cannot utilize.

Music seaches. This app has gotten shity lately. Pay for unlimited have had it years. But here lately whenever you hit search for a song and singer all that comes up is podcasts. If I wanted podcasts would pay for them. Nix the damn podcasts. Put them seperate or another amazon app for. Don't want them mixed in with my music and searches. This is supposed to be a music app. Guess will be deleting membership and find another music app.

This app is incredibly buggy. Missing songs after months of working. Playlist suddenly have a few songs locked to their subscription and will convert your entire Playlist to subscription only, meaning you can't control what plays AND you get ads for music you bought. installing and reinstalling actually removed the "purchased" tab from the library tab for whatever reason.
