4.2 The "HP" app is a powerful tool designed to enhance your printing experience and streamline your workflow. Here are some of its standout features:
As a freelance graphic designer, I often find myself juggling multiple projects and deadlines. The "HP" app has become an essential part of my daily routine. For instance, when I’m working on a client’s branding project, I frequently need to print out design proofs for review. Instead of running back to my desktop, I can simply pull up the app on my phone, select the file, and print it directly to my HP printer. This flexibility allows me to stay focused on my creative work without unnecessary interruptions.
The user interface of the "HP" app is intuitive and user-friendly. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with a clean layout that makes navigation a breeze. The main dashboard displays my printer status, ink levels, and quick access to printing and scanning features. I particularly appreciate the workflow for scanning documents; it’s straightforward. I can take a photo of a document, adjust the cropping, and save it as a PDF in just a few taps. Performance-wise, the app is responsive, and I’ve never experienced lag or crashes, which is crucial when I’m in a hurry. Overall, my experience with the app has been overwhelmingly positive, making my printing tasks much more manageable.
The "HP" app is free to download and use, which is a significant advantage for users looking for a cost-effective printing solution. However, while the app itself is free, users may need to consider the costs associated with ink and paper supplies, especially if they print frequently. HP also offers subscription services for ink delivery, which can be a convenient option for those who want to ensure they never run out of supplies.
HP regularly updates the app to enhance functionality and fix any bugs, which is reassuring for users like me who rely on it daily. The support section within the app is comprehensive, offering FAQs, troubleshooting tips, and direct access to customer service. I once had a minor issue with connecting my printer, and the support team was quick to respond and resolve my problem, which left me feeling valued as a customer.
When it comes to security and privacy, the "HP" app takes several measures to protect user data. It is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards set by these platforms. During the registration process, the app requires basic personal information, such as an email address, which is standard for most applications. However, it’s essential to note that HP does collect usage data to improve the app and provide personalized experiences. While I appreciate the convenience of tailored features, I remain cautious about how my data is used.
Additionally, the app does not display intrusive ads, which is a significant plus for me. I’ve noticed that it does track some behavior to enhance user experience, but I feel comfortable with the level of transparency provided in their privacy policy. Overall, I believe that HP has taken adequate steps to ensure user security while still offering a robust and functional app.

App fails to open. This has happened a few times over the years. And now when I need the app the most to scan important documents, and email the .pdf from my phone in a timely manner it has failed to function. AGAIN! It worked well for a long time, but it has failed to function before. A week later it would work, and Now (again) when I need it ASAP, it has let me down. HP is dropping the ball on keeping this app running properly. And yes, a network test from my DeskJet Pro 8025e passed.

Update: Still disappointed. I still can't print via my phone. I tried multiple ways, but I just can't get it to work anymore. Disappointed. Everything was working well until this latest update. Every time I try to send a file to print from my phone to the printer, it just stays stuck in a loading/running state but never actually prints. I've tried different ways through my phone, but nothing.

If I had known that the ONLY way to access the print/ scan feature is through the app (which only works on my phone by the way, not on my laptop or tablet and that took over an hour to discover) I would not have wasted my money. Additionally, I learned that my version doesn't have a 2-side/duplex function for the document feeder and that made scanning coursework documents a painstakingly slow process.

This app used to work great. I could print quickly and from anywhere. Recently, trying to print with this app is almost impossible. I have to close the app and reopen it multiple times because it says the printer is not connected even though the printer is connected to the wifi and I am logged into my account. In the process of closing the app and reopening it, the app will sign me out almost every other time. Even when it does work, it'll print 1 item and then say it can't connect. Please fix.

glitchy... hopefully the update fixes this. My monthly subscription bill was due and A week later I finally was able to log in! It just would not load and I could not get the website to work either I don't know what was going on. It's also a little confusing to navigate once you get into the app it takes you to the website for a lot of things and it's a little scattered it's annoying honestly
