4.8 Microsoft Excel: Spreadsheets is a powerhouse of productivity, offering a plethora of features that cater to both casual users and professionals alike. Here are some of the core highlights that make this app a must-have for anyone dealing with data.
As a freelance consultant, I find myself using Microsoft Excel: Spreadsheets in various scenarios throughout my day. Whether I’m tracking project timelines, managing budgets, or analyzing client data, Excel is my go-to tool. For instance, I recently worked on a project where I needed to analyze customer feedback data. I imported the data into Excel, used its sorting and filtering features to identify key trends, and created visual charts to present my findings to the client. This not only made my analysis clearer but also impressed my client with the professionalism of my presentation.
The user interface of Microsoft Excel is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy for both beginners and seasoned users to navigate. The layout is clean, with a ribbon toolbar that organizes features logically. I particularly appreciate the quick access toolbar, which allows me to customize my most-used functions for easy access. The performance is stellar; I’ve worked with large datasets without experiencing any lag, which is crucial for my work. Overall, my experience with the app has been overwhelmingly positive. It feels like a reliable partner in my daily tasks, helping me stay organized and efficient.
Microsoft Excel: Spreadsheets is available through various pricing models, including a subscription to Microsoft 365, which offers access to the entire suite of Office applications. The subscription starts at a reasonable monthly fee, and considering the extensive features and regular updates, I find it to be a worthwhile investment for anyone serious about productivity. There’s also a free version available with limited features, which is great for casual users or those just starting out.
Microsoft is known for its commitment to regular updates, and Excel is no exception. The app frequently receives enhancements that improve functionality and user experience. I’ve noticed new features being added, such as improved data visualization tools and enhanced collaboration options. Additionally, Microsoft offers robust customer support, including a comprehensive help center and community forums where users can seek assistance and share tips. This level of support gives me confidence that I can rely on Excel for my ongoing needs.
When it comes to security and privacy, Microsoft Excel: Spreadsheets takes user concerns seriously. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the security standards set by these platforms. Upon registration, users are required to provide minimal personal data, which is a plus for those concerned about privacy. I appreciate that Microsoft has a clear privacy policy outlining how my data is used and protected.
Moreover, the app does not bombard users with ads, which can often be a nuisance in free applications. Instead, it focuses on providing a seamless user experience. Tracking behavior is also kept to a minimum, with options for users to manage their privacy settings effectively. Overall, I feel secure using Microsoft Excel, knowing that my data is handled with care and that I have control over my privacy preferences.

App has lots of bugs. Data randomly disappears, & I cant find a reason behind it. at least once a month, the app says I don't have permission to make edits. The only fix is to uninstall & reinstall the app, which is not efficient. Every few days, all of my spreadsheets are locked out on my phone, & I have to log in again, although it shows I am logged in. Everything else Office365 and One drive still work, but excel locks up. This happens also happens when its in use. File just vanishes.

The app would be 3 stars if I didn't have to two factor login literally aever6 single time I open it. Opened it 20 minutes and need to update something? Put in your backup email and wait for the code. EVERY TIME. There's also syncing issues even when I have logged in. Data will just disappear. A much smaller but annoying things is if you use colors not in their suggestions it doesn't save what's in the chart like the computer does. So its really hard to match what you've used before.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled it twice now. It will let me use it once, then the next time I open the app, it gets permanently stuck on a "configuring Excel" screen. It seemed all right during the brief window where I could actually use it, but I don't really see what "configuration" it thinks it's doing. Just open the file.

Worked fine for a month, now whenever I open the app, it gets stuck "Configuring Excel" trying to fetch my files. If I delete the app and reinstall, it works for a bit, but then the same thing happens. Please fix your app. I left Google sheets because it keep losing my edits. How hard is it to make a spreadsheet app for a phone?

Indefinitely Fetching your files... UNUSABLE! I installed for the first time. Upon opening, it went to the "Fetching your files..." screen which is odd as it never once asked for my Microsoft account. it just hangs on this screen. Clearing cache and data have zero effect. Monitoring network usage and it's not pulling any data. Absolutely useless.
