3.7 Police Scanner Pro is a powerful app that brings the excitement of real-time police and emergency scanner feeds right to your smartphone. With its user-friendly interface and robust features, it’s a must-have for anyone interested in staying informed about local happenings. Here are some of the core features that make this app stand out:
As someone who enjoys staying informed about local events and emergencies, I often find myself reaching for the Police Scanner Pro app during various situations. One memorable instance was during a summer festival in my town. The atmosphere was lively, but I noticed a significant police presence. Curious about the reason, I opened the app and tuned into the local police feed. Within moments, I learned that they were responding to a minor incident nearby, which helped me understand the situation without any panic. Another time, while driving home late at night, I heard sirens and decided to check the app. It turned out there was a police chase happening just a few blocks away, and I was able to take an alternate route to avoid the area.
The user experience of Police Scanner Pro is one of its strongest points. Upon opening the app, I was greeted with a clean and organized interface that made navigation a breeze. The main screen displays a list of available feeds, categorized by location and type of service. I appreciated the search function, which allowed me to quickly find specific channels. The audio quality was impressive, with minimal lag, ensuring that I didn’t miss any crucial information. I also found the customizable alert feature particularly useful; I set it up to notify me of any major incidents in my area, which kept me informed without being overwhelmed by constant notifications. Overall, my experience with the app has been overwhelmingly positive, and I feel more connected to my community as a result.
Police Scanner Pro offers a free version with limited features, but I opted for the premium subscription, which is reasonably priced at around $4.99 per month. This subscription unlocks all the app's features, including unlimited access to all scanner feeds and the ability to set up custom alerts. I found the investment worthwhile, especially considering the peace of mind it provides during emergencies and the ability to stay informed about local events.
The developers of Police Scanner Pro are committed to providing regular updates, which is evident in the app’s performance and feature enhancements. I’ve noticed improvements in audio quality and the addition of new feeds since I started using it. Customer support is also responsive; I had a minor issue with the app crashing once, and their support team addressed it promptly. They also encourage user feedback, which shows they value their community and are dedicated to improving the app continuously.
As an American user, security and privacy are always top of mind when using apps like Police Scanner Pro. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, which adds a layer of credibility. Upon installation, I was pleased to find that the app does not require excessive personal data for registration; a simple email address suffices. This minimal data requirement is a significant plus for privacy-conscious users.
Regarding ads and tracking behavior, I noticed that the app does include some advertisements, but they are not overly intrusive. The premium version eliminates ads altogether, which I found to be a worthwhile trade-off for a smoother experience. Overall, I feel secure using Police Scanner Pro, as it respects user privacy while providing valuable real-time information.

I downloaded this one fully intending to pay to remove ads because of that top review that says it's a one-time $3 fee. Yeah, that's an old review. Now it is $4/month or $30/year. Nah... Too many of these apps try to get us with these subscriptions. I'd be willing to pay a one-time fee, up to around $15 or so for this, but never a subscription. That said, the ads aren't HORRIBLE, I just don't like ads. 🤷🏻♂️

it works, for a fee they don't tell you about. A week ago I downloded this app, I didn't even make an account and listened for about 30 min and then deleted it and today it charged two of my cards that I never even gave them the info on, for $31.79. So now I have to open two disputes on 2 separate cards and I'm out using either for at least a week while I wait for replacements to come in.

I have always found this application enjoyable. Also I don't mind the advertising. However, recent versions will start an advertisement and it hijacks the entire operating system of my phone. I have not been able to switch over to medical software I need to access, and I missed multiple phone calls. As a result I'm using it far less than I used to. You need to be able to disconnect especially if it's an emergency. The help file says to avoid this buy the pro version. What if I needed to call 911

All I hear for my county now is an error code like I would on my computer while it is streaming on my phone. As if I clicked on something wrong with Microsoft Windows. It is constant and annoying enough to remove this app after trying to see if the noise went away after 4 days. May be an error on the subscriber's end but not sure.

Ads Block Phone Use. This app would be fine if the ads didn't cover the entire screen and make you wait to clear them. The workaround to lock screen and unlock does not always work. This has gotten progressively worse and it seems to be a developer trick to force clicks. The X that may eventually appear on the ad also doesn't necessarily work and just results in an ad click.
