4.3 The LG ThinQ app is a powerful tool that connects you to your LG smart appliances, making your life easier and more efficient. Here are some of its standout features:
As a busy professional, I often find myself juggling work, family, and personal time. The LG ThinQ app has become an essential part of my daily routine. For example, I often use the app to preheat my oven while I’m still at the office. This way, when I arrive home, I can pop in dinner without waiting for the oven to warm up. Additionally, on weekends, I love to experiment with new recipes. The app’s recipe suggestions have inspired me to try dishes I wouldn’t have thought of otherwise, making cooking a fun and engaging experience.
The user interface of the LG ThinQ app is intuitive and user-friendly. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with a clean dashboard that displays all my connected appliances. Navigating through the features is seamless; I can easily access the energy monitoring section or check the status of my washing machine with just a few taps. The performance is impressive, with minimal lag when sending commands to my appliances. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The app not only simplifies my life but also enhances my interaction with my home appliances, making me feel more in control.
The LG ThinQ app is free to download and use, which is a significant advantage for users looking to enhance their smart home experience without incurring additional costs. While the app itself is free, it’s worth noting that you will need to invest in LG smart appliances to fully utilize its features. However, the convenience and efficiency these appliances offer can lead to long-term savings on energy bills and time management.
LG is committed to providing regular updates for the ThinQ app, ensuring that users have access to the latest features and improvements. I’ve noticed several updates since I started using the app, which have enhanced its functionality and user experience. Additionally, LG offers robust customer support, with a dedicated help section within the app and online resources. Whenever I’ve had questions or needed assistance, I found the support team to be responsive and helpful, which adds to my overall satisfaction with the app.
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using smart home applications like LG ThinQ. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the necessary security standards for mobile applications. During the registration process, I was required to provide some personal data, including my email address and location, which is standard for smart home apps. However, I appreciate that LG has a clear privacy policy outlining how my data is used and protected.
In terms of ads and tracking behavior, I have not encountered intrusive advertisements while using the app. LG appears to prioritize user experience over aggressive marketing tactics, which is a refreshing change. Overall, I feel confident that my data is secure while using the LG ThinQ app, allowing me to enjoy the convenience of smart home technology without compromising my privacy.

The app is honestly quite useless. The only good feature is the reminder to clean the oven. Diagnostics are a joke. It didn't register anything wrong when we had issues. It has a remote start option, but you have to physically push the button on the oven to turn it on, then once you're out of range of your wifi, it won't work, so what's the point? It registers hundreds of fridge door openings in a small time frame in the middle of the night when I'm sleeping and refuses to stay connected to app

if I could only give it zero stars. this is a horrible app. it shows that it wants to connect gives me the code to put in and then just dies. a horrible horrible app. UPDATE: Still a horrible app. I have done all that I have been asked, got connected once, then never could find the TV again. I am a retired IT manager and you have to be an engineer to deal with this app. At a time when apps can connect to things automagically. You'd think that LG could make it work and stay connected.

Every time this app updates, it gets worse. After taking 45 seconds to try to connect it's a 50:50 chance if it actually will. I just changed the temperature, will it now also let me change the fan speed? Maybe. And if you've changed the temperature or fan speed, you might as well just restart your phone before trying to set a schedule because it just seems to never be able to stay connected between the two screens.

Well, if you have LG products, you don't have too many choices. Although this happens to be a good app, there is so much more they can learn from some other apps that do the same basic things that are not necessarily proprietary. However, they have proprietary support. I love my new washer-dryer combo, and ThinQ is good so far!

It's ok. Have to constantly reconnect it. Was just using it, went to use it to skip an ad on YouTube is telling me to turn the TV on, but it's alright on and I had just used the app a minute ago, and then just get a never ending spinny circle when I tell it to turn on...even though the TV is currently on. Tried force stopping and reopening the app but still the same thing. It's constantly buggy and not very fast. And we only use it because we can't find the actual TV remote...
