4.9 As someone who is always on the lookout for ways to reduce waste and save money, I found "Too Good To Go" to be a game-changer in my daily routine. One of my favorite scenarios is during my lunch breaks at work. Instead of heading to a typical café, I open the app to see what local restaurants have available. Just last week, I discovered a nearby deli offering a magic bag filled with sandwiches and salads that would have otherwise been thrown away. It was not only a delicious meal but also a great way to support local businesses while minimizing waste.
Another scenario is during my weekend grocery shopping. I often check the app before heading out to see if any local grocery stores have surplus items. On one occasion, I found a grocery store offering a bag of fresh fruits and vegetables for just $3. It was a delightful surprise that not only saved me money but also encouraged me to try new recipes with the produce I wouldn’t have bought otherwise.
The user interface of "Too Good To Go" is refreshingly straightforward. Upon opening the app, I’m greeted with a map displaying nearby participating restaurants and stores. The layout is clean, and I can easily filter options based on distance or type of food. The workflow is seamless; I simply select a location, choose a magic bag, and pay through the app. I appreciate the real-time updates on availability, which makes planning my food pickups hassle-free.
Performance-wise, the app runs smoothly without any glitches. I’ve never experienced lag or crashes, even during peak hours when many users are likely accessing it. Overall, my feelings after using the app are overwhelmingly positive. It’s not just about saving money; it’s about being part of a movement that values sustainability and community.
One of the most appealing aspects of "Too Good To Go" is its pricing structure. The magic bags typically range from $3 to $6, depending on the restaurant or store. This pricing is incredibly affordable, especially considering the quality of food you receive. I’ve often found myself with bags worth double or triple what I paid, making it a win-win situation for both my wallet and the environment.
The app is regularly updated, which keeps it fresh and functional. I’ve noticed improvements in the user interface and additional features that enhance the overall experience. Customer support is also commendable; I once had a question about a missing order, and the support team responded promptly and resolved the issue efficiently. This level of service adds to my trust in the app and its mission.
As an American user, I prioritize security and privacy when using apps, and "Too Good To Go" does not disappoint. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring that it meets the necessary security standards for mobile applications. During registration, I was only required to provide basic personal information, such as my email and location, which felt reasonable given the app's functionality.
Importantly, I have not encountered any intrusive ads or excessive tracking behavior while using the app. It respects user privacy, focusing on the core mission of reducing food waste rather than bombarding users with advertisements. This commitment to user security and privacy makes me feel safe while enjoying the benefits of the app.

Seems like it's a good concept, except in my area, it's the same four doughnut and pastry shops available. No matter what time of day it is, everything is sold out in the nearby area, again, a minimal selection. I've never used the application because of the lack of business participation in this area, unless driving to the Bay Area, which is 1-2 hours away.

This app is a joke. While you can get junk food at a discount, but once you get something substantial you're paying full price for something that was made earlier that day. I paid $6.99 for a soup that was just beans, and the app claimed it was worth $21. One serving is priced at $6.99, I asked the restaurant in person when I picked up the order! They should have give me 3 orders, not one. Total rip off. Once I get my refund I will be deleting this app

There should be a notification system that businesses can use if they are running low on food. I didn't know there was a possibility of having your order cancelled. My very first order was cancelled maybe 20 mins before my pickup window. Suddenly having no food at 10:30pm was a huge bummer. Communication needs to be improved on this. Maybe also add a reward system for cancelled orders or penalties to businesses for last second cancellations? Definitely not what I was expecting for my first time.

UI needs some finessing, notifications aren't consistent, but it's a genuinely delightful way to add spontaneous variety to regular groceries without breaking the bank, or fill up when resources are short. Picking up in the earliest part of your window means time to shop before closing, making menu coordination easier. Great way to add a thrilling surprise to the household's meal planning, for sure.

Not enough options close by, anything that isn't sweets usually sells out quickly and I never get the chance to try it. Even those are getting pricey, some sweets bags have increased prices twice in the short time I've used the app. Also if you miss a pickup for ANY reason, they will not refund you, so just be aware.
